Between 2001 and 2017, around 30000 women in The Netherlands were treated with the Essure device for sterilisation.
This experimental device has caused health complaints in some of these women, including:
- Belly ache
- Lower back pain
- Tiredness
- Mood swings
- Joint pain
- Abnormal blood loss
- Skin irritation
- Of course, not all women treated with Essure are suffering from these side effects, but an unknown amount of women have these complaints, but are unaware that these may be caused by this medical device.
