Biophysical scientist and acupuncturist Claire Foley has written a paper on the known mechanisms behind acupuncture, and this has been published in the Medical Acupuncture journal. It is called “A Biophysical Model for Cardiovascular Effects of Acupuncture – Underlying Mechanisms Based on First Principles”, and available here: https://www.liebertpub.com/doi/abs/10.1089/acu.2022.0050 .
As the title suggests, Foley’s paper assumes that the cardiovascular system is one of the main mechanisms of acupuncture, and I fully agree with this, based on my studies with Kiiko Matsumoto for more than 13 years, my studies with dr. Neal for half that time, and over 15 years of my own clinical experience with acupuncture.
