  • ETCMA would like to share an important news today in the “De Volkskrant” highlighting that Majority of Dutch people want alternative care as a basic package

More than half of the Dutch population would like to see one or more alternative medicine reimbursed from the basic health insurance package. In the eyes of a quarter of the population, alternative care has ‘as much value’ as regular healthcare.

According to research done by the Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) that will be published on Tuesday (June, 20th). According to the CBS figures, 6 percent of the population visited an alternative healer in 2018. The osteopath, chiropractor and acupuncturist were the most frequently mentioned. Women and the more highly educated make relatively more use of alternative medicine than men and lower educated people.
